L’Oro del Benàco 2015: awards for the best Garda oils
Last 11 June there was the award ceremony of the contest “L’Oro del Benàco”, the contest announced by the Producers Association of Garda DOP oil which rewards the best Garda oils
The ceremony, which was held in the premises of Agraria Riva del Garda inTrento, saw the participation of producers and journalists, who were able to learn about the characteristics and peculiarities of the various oils of the 2014 campaign. The awarded companies in fact, with the results of a hard year, managed to guarantee equally a product with protected denomination of great value. This was the statement of chairman Andrea Bertazzi who recognized the great commitment given generously by producers and technicians in preserving quality olives.
This year the award for the best oil was given to Agraria di Riva with the oil Trentino DOP “Uliva”. Second oil Garda Orientale DOP “Fondo Brè” of the Azienda Agricola Marchese Guidalberto di Canossa and third oil Garda Orientale DOP of the Consortium of Olive growers of Malcesine. Next in fourth position Turri Fratelli Srl with Garda D.O.P. Orientale oil and fifth place for Olearia Caldera with Garda D.O.P. Bresciano oil.
The winner was given a natural sculpture made by artist Giancarlo Fiorilli who used for his creation recycled olive tree wood.
