Garda olives are born in a rich land, among lakes and mountains.
Lake Garda, or Benaco, is the largest Italian lake.
To the South it is surrounded by drumlin hills generated by glacial withdrawal and, in the higher and narrower northern part, it is surrounded by the mountains that confer it its shape and the profile of a fjord and protect it making its climate particularly mild and of the Mediterranean type.
A land, that thanks to the mountains in the North and the largest Italian lake, characterizes the area of production of Garda olives, with a climate that is similar to the Mediterranean one.
Lake and mountains mitigate the effects of the environment that, at the latitude of the Garda area, would otherwise be inhospitable for olive tree development.
In the same way as the rain, well distributed during the whole year, safeguard the olive trees from hydric stress and avoid the formation of stagnation what would be detrimental both for the plant and for the quality of the oil.
Favorite places for oil then. But also the for the tourists who every year choose to come here to discover these wonderful places made of little villages overlooking the lake and paths among hills and mountains to walk or cycle along.
